Mobile fight of 1997 - Part II

As I mentioned in the first part of  "Mobile fight of the 1997" there were other problems too with Skycel. As soon as I had closed that complaint with the following fax,

other problems started... (by the way, as I mentioned it is very important to give positive strokes to the supplier when he does the right thing. Especially sending formal communication about complaints opening and closing, and keeping a proof of receipt/delivery).

In fact this new set of problems was not new per se. Their billing system itself was in a mess!

They had given me a new offer called "Semma Super Saver". They sent me a welcome kit. Look at the reply I sent to the "Welcome kit". Note that the written communications with POD starts from welcome kit. How many of us don't push it with the legs towards the dust bin, when it falls on the floor, when we open the envelope!!

In the mean time I got an invoice, paid the same by cheque, and not got receipt. So sent them another letter informing them that I had sent the cheque by courier, I have not got the receipt, expedite that process and send me the tariff of SEMMA SUPER SAVER!(SSS)

Nothing happened. Only inconsistent bills kept on coming. So the next letter goes to them.

Now the interesting twist starts. As per the requirement for SSS, I needed to authorise them to charge the bills on my Citibank Credit card. Obediently I had authorised them with my signature and the authorisation for charging on the purchase (note that PURCHASE) had gone to Citibank. When they started charging me unsubstantiated amounts on my bill through the Citibank card, I called Citibank asked them to stop paying to Skycel. Citibank said that is not possible since you have already 'purchased' the product and authorised the supplier to charge. Remember this is happening 17 years back and systems are not fool proof. I tried explaining to Citibank that this is not a completed purchase in that sense, and that the supplier is charging for what they have not supplied. Citibank said that in any case they can't stop the payment since I have authorised, and that I have to take it up with the supplier.

So the following goes to BOTH of them.

Unfortunately the sweet reply that they sent to this, is missing. 17 years have gone, so pardon me. But I have my reply to their reply to this letter. So you can guess the reasoning and substantiation for their audacity as they perceive. But still, see how am complimenting them and thanking at the outset of my letter!

So they finally agreed to STOP AUTO DEBIT ON CARD!!

My closing letters to Citibank and Skycell:

That was the end of Mobile fight of 1997 - Part II
